The Children Need You!

 

EYSA is operated by a team of enthusiastic volunteers that are committed to delivering and supporting positive soccer playing opportunities to Hardin County and surrounding area children. The experience of volunteering in EYSA is enjoyable and very rewarding. Please look over the following list of EYSA volunteer opportunities. Find a position that best suits your abilities and fits into your schedule — and please get involved.  

 

Team Positions:
General team positions must be filled each season to insure a positive soccer experience for players and their families.

Head Coach of U6 & Older Teams:

Coach, mentor and role model for children just beginning soccer, as well as, children with advanced levels of soccer playing experience. EYSA coaches focus more on player development than team development. Ultimate goal is to provide children an enjoyable experience playing soccer, leaving them with a desire to return and play each season. Kentucky Youth Soccer Association coaching certification courses are provided free of charge to all coaches. Time commitment depends on number of practices held during weekdays. (Requires 3 to 6 hours per week during a season)

Assistant Coach of U6 & Older Teams:

Assists the head coach with running practices and coaching games. Opportunity to get more involved with your child's soccer experience and learning the basics of coaching youth soccer. Time commitment depends on number of practices held during weekdays. (Requires 3 to 6 hours per week during a season)

Team Parent: 

Assists the head coach in organizing the team , makes phone calls to parents, recruits concession stand volunteers, makes snack schedule assignments and organizes end of season party. (Requires 1 hour or less per week during a season)

Concession Stand Worker:

Volunteers that help with the operation of the concession stand as scheduled. No experience required. (Requires 1 or 2 hour per shift, one or two shifts per season)

Board of Director Positions:

Board of Director Positions are elected for a one-year term at the Annual General Membership Meeting, usually held in January. EYSA holds Board Elections which are voted upon by all EYSA Members present.  These positions take effect June 1 of that year to oversee the organization for the following  year. These are great leadership opportunities with varying degrees of commitment.

 

 

 

Executive Board Positions:

Executive Committee positions are elected for two-year terms at the Annual General Membership Meeting,
usually held in January. EYSA holds Board Elections which are voted upon by all EYSA Members present.  These positions take effect June 1 of that year to oversee the organization for two years. These are great leadership opportunities with varying degrees of commitment. 

President:

Presides over all association meetings; makes appointments to committees; chairs the Executive Committee; supervises the affairs of the association; enforces the association's constitution, by-laws and rules; ex-officio member of all committees; association representative to other soccer associations. Candidates for President must have previous experience on the EYSA Board.

Vice President for Senior Recreational Soccer:

Oversee and coordinate the activities of the U11 and above age groups.  Performs all duties of the President during the absence of the President. Directs the team formation process; board representative to the Elizabethtown Youth Soccer Association; appoint senior soccer administrators, and scheduler; oversee the activities of all age group activities; ensure coaches are obtained for all teams in the age groups; oversee the rostering of all senior recreational soccer players; coordinate the scheduling of all games, practices, fests and tournaments for the age groups; Coordinate for the training for all age group coaches.

 Vice President for Junior Soccer:

Oversee and coordinate the activities of the U6, U8, and U10 age groups;  Assume the duties of the President in the case of the resignation of the President, Vice President Senior Recreational Soccer or during the inability of the President, appoint, junior recreational soccer age-group administrators and scheduler; ensure coaches are obtained for all teams in the age groups; oversee the rostering of all junior soccer players; coordinate the scheduling of all games, practices, fests, and tournaments for the age groups; coordinate for the training for all age group coaches.

Vice President for Support:

 Assume the duties of the President in the case of the resignation of the President, Vice President for Junior Recreational Soccer, Vice President Senior Recreational Soccer until the next Annual General Meeting following said resignation or during a temporary absence; or during the inability of the President, Vice President for Junior Recreational Soccer, Vice President Senior Recreational Soccer to perform the functions of that office; Serve as Chairperson of the Arbitration Committee; Serve as the point of contact for resolving conflicts for other officers; Sign money disbursements made in the name of the Association; and Perform such other duties as may be delegated by the Board.

Vice President for Atletico Flames Futbol Club "Flames":

Oversee and coordinate the activities of the Flames Soccer Club; Assume the duties of the President in the case of the resignation of the President, Vice President for Junior Recreational Soccer, Vice President Senior Recreational Soccer and Vice President Support until the next Annual General Meeting following said resignation or during a temporary absence; or during the inability of the President and the Vice President for Junior Recreational Soccer, Vice President Senior Recreational Soccer and Vice President of Support to perform the functions of that office; Appoint, subject to the approval of the Board, Flames administrators, and directors;  Ensure coaches are obtained for all teams in the age groups; Director of the any Flames soccer club tournaments or friendlies. Coordinate in the scheduling of all games, practices, Coordinate in the training for all Flames Soccer Club players.

Vice President for TOPSoccer:

Oversee and coordinate the activities of the TOPSoccer program; Assume the duties of the President in the case of the resignation of the President, Vice President for Junior Recreational Soccer, Vice President Senior Recreational Soccer, Vice President Support and Vice President of Flames until the next Annual General Meeting following said resignation or during a temporary absence; or during the inability of the President and the Vice President for Junior Recreational Soccer, Vice President Senior Recreational Soccer, Vice President of Support and Vice President of Flames to perform the functions of that office; Appoint, subject to the approval of the Board, directors; Ensure coaches are obtained for all teams in the age groups; Director of the any TOPSoccer club tournaments or friendlies. Coordinate in the scheduling of all games, practices,

 

Secretary: 

Oversee communication between the Association and its Members to ensure that all are kept informed of the activities of the Association; Record minutes of Board meetings and distribute minutes and all submitted proposed amendments as provided for in the Bylaws to all members of the Board and make those minutes available to all association members;  Serve as Chair of the Nominations Committee and the Registrations Committee; Ensure appropriate recognition for participating in the Association by providing appropriate recognition for retiring Board Members and others with appropriate awards or other mementos; and Perform such other duties as may be delegated by the Board.


Treasurer:

 Insure the sound financial operation of the Association; Develop plans to encourage donations and solicit funds in support of Association activities; Present a statement of account at every meeting of the Association or the Board and at other times when requested by the Board and make a full report at the Annual General Meeting; Receive all monies of EYSA;  Keep accurate records of receipts and disbursements; Pay out funds authorized by the Board; Sign money disbursements made in the name of the Association; Present an annual budget for the coming year for Board approval by June 15th.

 

Registrar:

Compiles and submits through League One Computer program to KYSA, all EYSA team and player registrations. Establishes registration start and end dates; prepares rosters for both the recreational and the competitive teams.
