DINOMITE U6 PROGRAM
Spring 2010
Dear U6 players, parents, & coaches:
EYSA is pleased to announce that beginning with the Fall 2009 season, we will begin using the Xara Soccer Dinomites Package as the basis of our U6 program. The Dinomites Package is specifically designed to keep 4 and 5 year old minds focused on learning the proper techniques of playing soccer by making it fun. The Package provides a week-by-week story line around which all the practice activities and training are designed around. Also, the program is designed to get the parents more involved in the soccer experience and hopefully will encourage some new would-be coaches to take the plunge.
The practice session is divided into different sections which can be easily understood and ready to implement in only a few minutes. All U6 teams will be using the same package and likely several teams will practice together, possibly with a different coach leading each section. This should allow the more experienced coaches to help the newer coaches get accustomed to the soccer rules and coaching in general.
This is a ten week program which means we will begin using the package for our practice sessions a few weeks before the game season begins. Practice will be held once during the week throughout the season, but there are also activities on the website where parents can practice with the kids at home as well.
One very important item – the theme of each practice session will revolve around the soccer ball. But this is not just any soccer ball, it is a special Dinomite ball. Therefore, it will be necessary for EVERY U6 player to have one of these Dinomite balls.
It is EYSA’s intention to make these balls available at both of the local soccer stores – House of Soccer & Soccer Premier.

U6 DINOMITE REGISTRATION
Spring 2010
Under 6
Q. Can I play?
A. If you were born between Aug 1, 2003 and July 31, 2005, you are old enough to play.
You will have to wait until next fall if you are not old enough.
Q. What do I need to play?
A. Dinomite soccer ball, water bottle, and shin guards. Cleats are not mandatory although they
do prevent slipping on wet grass.
Q. When will we play?
A. Practices will be held on one weeknight. After several weeks of practices games will be held
on Friday evening or Saturday. Coaches choose the night that is convenient for them.
Q. What do mom and/or dad have to do so that I may play?
A. We require that all parents volunteer for at least 2 hours during the season. EYSA is a volunteer organization.
Parents may volunteer to coach, be an assistant coach, stripe fields or work in the concession stand. If you are not asked to volunteer during the season you may be asked to volunteer during the Commonwealth State Cup hosted by EYSA. Parents that do not wish to volunteer must pay a $10.00 Do It Fee in place of volunteering.
Q. Who is my coach?
A. Coaches are moms and/or dads that volunteer during the registration process. Please do not check that you
will coach unless you are serious about it. Teams can not be formed until we have ample coaches.
If you volunteer to assist a team it is possible that you will need to be a coach when the coach is unavailable.
Parents that coach will be assigned their own child. All other players go in a pool and are assigned to teams
according to KYSA rules. (www.kysoccer.net)

New players must present a valid birth certificate and have the last 4 digits of their social security number.
